NOTE: ALL CAR MANUFACTURES WENT FROM "GROSS" HORSEPOWER RATINGS TO "NET" HORSEPOWER AND TORQUE RATINGS IN 1972! Gross was with OUT an air cleaner, alternator, water pump, and an open exhaust. "Net" was with all of the above. This makes it difficult to compare HP ratings. Also note that the steady decline in compression since 1968 gets real serious from 1971 on.
